CNC Metal Sherpa Mini Extruder V3 — Key Features (FYSETC)
This V3 CNC-machined Sherpa Mini addresses TPU filament blockages seen in earlier versions due to motor heat. With upgraded PEEK components for improved heat isolation and reliability, it’s engineered for consistent extrusion in demanding setups. Now shipping 10-tooth Version 3.
Highlights
Heat management upgrade: Added PEEK inserts isolate motor heat to reduce clogs, especially with TPU.
PEEK (30% GF) gears: Upgraded from POM for temperature resistance, heat insulation, and wear resistance.
CNC aluminum chassis: Precision-machined, lightweight, hollow frame for high stiffness and low inertia.
Drive system: High-quality nano-coated mold steel spur gears for smooth, durable operation.
Motor: Moons’ 36 (10T) for high torque with improved thermal behavior.
Flexible installations: Includes PTFE tube metal fitting; supports both direct-drive and Bowden setups.
Construction
Precision CNC-machined, aviation-grade aluminum
PEEK (30% glass fiber) reduction gears
Nano-coated hard steel spur gears
Firmware & Setup
Marlin (example)
8-tooth, 36 motor (reference):
Recommended E-steps: 870 (calibrate in your setup).
G-code method:
Note: This product now ships with 10-tooth V3. E-steps for 10T will differ; run a filament-measurement calibration to determine the exact value for your printer.
Klipper
10-tooth gear: Set rotation_distance ≈ 22.0 as a starting point, then calibrate.
Current Settings
Max drive current: 1.0 A
Recommended: ~0.8 A for optimal torque and cooler operation
Gear Ratios (for reference)
10-tooth: 50:10
Adjust E-steps/rotation_distance accordingly.
