ERCF Binky PCB

The new improved Filament Encoder for the ERCF is here!

mneuhaus has lovingly designed  this PCB to make your 3D printing experience a whole lot smoother. He has taken the original TCRT5000 PCBs, analysed the issues, and created a more reliable, headache-free alternative.

Instead of the TCRT5000, this uses a different sensor based on a slotted wheel concept. Mneuhaus built a new PCB using the same compact and affordable Omron sensor, the EE-SX398, found on the KY-010 board.

To deal with the false readings, they added a schmitt filter to the PCB, and like the TCRT5000 boards, it also includes an LED!

The new creation has been dubbed “Binky,” after a rabbit’s playful twisty jump, symbolising the leap from troublesome technology to something more user-friendly. Give Binky a go, and make your 3D printing tasks easier and more enjoyable.

I will be adding a M2x10 screw in the future as the standard M3 is too large but for now I do not have many, please ask if you need one!
